Begin at the beginning
My first post on my beauty blog! Who would have thought it? And me, so far from my 30th Birthday - with another very BIG Birthday coming right up at the end of September.
I'm a normal gal, nothing extraordinary, not a top model in my prevoius life, nor a great beauty like Helen of Troy. I'm just someone who looks after their skin, does the daily rituals of cleanse, tone and moisture with pleasure, doesn't go to bed with her make up on and has reached an age where I need to look after those lovely lines. I love girly stuff (I'm still a ten year old at heart) and pink and pretty packaging and nice smelly stuff give me immense pleasure. I'm Someone who cares about the promises that manufacturers make, hope they're always true and magical and miracle, but have realised with the pragmatism that comes with age that there is no miracle product, no magic wand, no matter who says what and how many airbrushed photos they produce. But it's fun trying and sometimes you can find a real super product - one that works, makes life more plesant, makes you smile - the one that you want to share with your mates
I'm also really concerned about packaging. I'm no eco warrior nor an ambassador for the 3rd Age, but packaging that doesn't work, is hard to use, open or close or indeed packaging that robs the consumer by leaving half the product still in the container drives me insane. Conversely, I feel the effect on my daily life of packaging that's easy to use, efficient and beautiful and I love leaving my house smelling and feeling gooooood!
